Three years ago, accompanied by my trusted photographer, Spijker, I had the distinct pleasure of visiting Geert Oosting. My connection to Geert was facilitated through a mutual friend, Salvatore Tundo, a fellow enthusiast with an eye for the exceptional. Geert, a passionate Citroën aficionado with a particular soft spot for the estate variants of the D-model series, owned a pristine 1974 DS 20. This particular year marked the final production run, adding an extra layer of rarity and desirability to his already cherished vehicle.

While these models shared the ID lineage, which was positioned as a more simplified version of the DS, Citroën had ingeniously equipped them with the sophisticated high-pressure braking system characteristic of the DS. This distinction, though subtle, significantly differentiated the driving dynamics of the ID Break from its more basic ID counterparts.
